COOKIES POLICY

Cookies & Tracker Policy (Stealth Consent v4.2.0)

1. How cookie management works

At trailtales.gr, cookies and third-party “trackers” are not activated automatically. Before you give your choice, we keep statistical and advertising tools in an inactive state.

In simple terms: whatever is not necessary for the page to work remains off until you say “yes”.
DEFAULT: OFF

2. Cookie Categories

What we use and why
Necessary — essential for functions like cart, checkout, connection security.
Statistics (Analytics) — help us understand how the site is used (without “breaking” the e-shop if you refuse them).
Marketing — e.g., ad campaigns/metrics, retargeting.

Note: if “tag manager” type tools are used, they are usually configured to activate only after the corresponding consent exists, so as not to accidentally load third-party tags.

3. Google Consent Mode v2 (when Google is used)

When Google services are present, the site “declares” from the start that consent for statistics/advertising is negative, until you choose otherwise. This prevents unwanted loading before your choice.

Updating your choice applies immediately once you press Accept / Reject / Manage.

4. Where your choice is stored

Your choice is stored in the browser so we don’t ask you on every page. Depending on the environment, the following are used alternatively:

LocalStorage
primary choice
SessionStorage
alternative
Secure Cookie
fallback
In-Memory
last resort

Technical keys such as stealth_consent_choice, stealth_consent_time, stealth_consent_uuid are used to “remember” your choice.

5. Revoking consent (cleaning)

If you change your mind and reject (or reduce) consent, an attempt is made to clear cookies/storage related to tracking.

We do not touch cookies that are necessary for e-shop functions (e.g., cart, checkout, login).

6. Do Not Track & embeds (e.g. YouTube)

If your browser has Do Not Track active and there is no already stored choice, it may be treated as a preference for privacy (i.e., non-necessary ones rejected). Also, embeds (like videos) may appear with “click-to-load”, so they only load if you choose.

DNT: 1 → indication: preference for privacy

You can change choices at any time from the Manage button on the banner.
